IASO – IASO Children’s Hospital: Strategic partnership with the European University Cyprus

IASO and IASO Children’s Hospital entered into a new strategic partnership with the European University Cyprus. The scope of the partnership is the training and education of the students of the University’s School of Medicine, the development of relationships, the promotion of activities in areas of common interest, as well as the materialization of academic and educational actions in the field of Medicine.

The President of IASO Group, Dr. Georgios Stamatiou, Mr. Antonis Vlachousis, Vice-President of IASO Group, Messrs Christoforos Hadjikyprianou, President & CEO of the European University Cyprus, Professor Kostas Gouliamos, Rector of European University Cyprus, Emmanouil Beteniotis, Vice-President of the BOD, Professor Vasileios A. Zerris, MD, MPH, MSc, FAANS, Chief of the Department of Neurosurgery at IASO Children’s Hospital, Professor of Neurosurgery at the European University Cyprus and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Texas A&M University, USA, Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, sealed the forthcoming partnership for a 10-year continuing academic training program.

The students will have the opportunity to visit IASO Group’s health facilities, take tours at the Departments of the General, Maternity, Gynecological and Pediatric Hospital, and attend hands-on and theoretical courses delivered by IASO’s and IASO Children’s Hospital’s top medical staff on the most advanced medical practices applied on a global basis.

The European University Cyprus belongs to Laureate International Universities, an international Univeristy Organization based in Baltimore, USA. Also, it is the first educational institution in Cyprus and Greece to have been assessed with the highest distinction ECTS Label (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) by the European Committee for the acknowledgement of the excellent performance of the European University Cyprus. Within the framework of the program, IASO is launching a fully organized and well staffed Academic Affairs Bureau, which shall be responsible for all academic affairs and activities.

The President of IASO Group’s BOD, Dr. Georgios Stamatiou, stated: “Through this partnership, IASO is now a very important international training center. Today, we laid the foundations for a bright and mutually beneficial partnership of corporate responsibility and offer to the academic community.”

Professor Kostas Gouliamos, Rector of European University Cyprus, among others stated: “IASO is a Point of Reference in Greece. Through this new partnership, IASO and European University Cyprus join forces to generate added value. We want to set the terms and conditions that will govern this partnership and make us responsible towards society. We lay the foundations to build upon this academic partnership.”
